Health Sciences students visited the Dufur Fire and EMS Station on My Day Friday! Jack Frakes and Doug Frame gave them a tour of all the equipment and helped them learn how to splint various injuries.



A group of high school students volunteered their morning to help redo the floor of the beef and sheep barns at the Wasco County Fair Grounds today!




High School Family and Consumer Science students had a great time visiting JoAnn Fabrics to pick out materials for their upcoming sewing projects!

MyDay Friday STEM activities included being a Wildlife Biologist and building birdfeeders, being an Electrician and building circuits and being an Aerospace Engineer and building paper airplanes! High school students worked in partnership with elementary students to make these activities a success!

The Dalles Country Club will be opening new sessions of Birdie Basics, a golf instruction program taught to children ages 3-6. Travis Kane, who is the Dufur High School golf coach, is the instructor. If interested, please check out the attached flyer.

Congratulations to Dufur alumna Katie Beal for making the Central Oregon Community College Dean's List! To be eligible to appear on the Dean's List, COCC students are required to be enrolled in 12 or more credits and receive a term GPA of 3.60 or higher. Way to go, Katie!

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Child abuse occurs at every socioeconomic level, across ethnic and cultural lines, within all religions, and at all levels of education. A report of child abuse is made every 10 seconds. SafeSpace Children's Advocacy Center of the Gorge is a single point of contact for child abuse victims in the Columbia Gorge to get the help they need. The 17th Annual Ranger Walk-a-thon is next Friday, April 22nd, from 1-3 pm on the Ranger Football field! Get your pledges completed today and support the Innovative Education Grant Fund for special classroom projects and supplies!

The senior government class was honored to welcome Oregon Secretary of State Shemia Fagan to their class today. Secretary Fagan attended Dufur School during her elementary years, and the kids thoroughly enjoyed having her visit the class and talk about her childhood, career, and her role in Oregon's government. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit, Secretary Fagan!




Yesterday, Dufur students were visited by Jake and Jonathan from the SWAT and Crowd Management divisions of Oregon State Police. Students learned about the aspects of the job, and got to look at and try on gear!

Dufur School will be offering daycare this Friday, April 15th from 8:00-3:20. Please email kwhitley@dufur.k12.or.us if you would like to sign your child up. There will be no bussing services provided for daycare and students must be transported to the school by their parents.
