Good evening,
Due to Dufur School's switch to distance learning this week, there will be a change to our calendar. This Thursday will be the end of the semester and Friday will become a teacher grading day (no school for students). This enables everyone to come back in person next Monday for a full week of on campus learning.
Dufur School will host a watch party of the 4-H Virtual Career Fair that is taking place on Thursday, February 10th from 4:00-5:30 p.m. The watch party will take place in the cafeteria. If you prefer to attend at home, there is a registration link included in the attached flier.

PSA: The Mid Columbia Umpires Association (MCUA) is preparing for the upcoming 2022 spring baseball and softball season. Not only does the MCUA need umpires for baseball and softball, it is really the high school teams that need you.
Plain and simple, without umpire’s games do not get played. Could you use some extra income? Do you like to be part of something special and make a difference? Because if so, we could use your help.
Join a group of dedicated individuals and provide a viable service to high school athletics. Plus you get the best seat in the house. The season is starting March 14th. Meetings will be starting in mid February.
Training is provided for new members. Assistance to purchase gear is available. You can reach out today for information by emailing myself at rjamack.mcua.mcfoa@gmail.com. You can send a message via Facebook as well. You can also show your interest by going to http://www.newofficials.org/.
The Ranger TECH construction class is hard at work!

The after school program hours from 1/10-1/20 will be from 3:30-5:30. Remember that there will be no after school activity bus for this program until after 1/20.
Information for coming back to school next:
Covid symptoms vary and can present as very mild cold symptoms to more severe symptoms. If your students shows any signs of illness please keep them home and notify the school. Testing can be scheduled at school if needed. With increasing numbers locally everyone must be diligent, stay home with feeling ill, and mask. If you need a vaccination, please contact your doctor or North Central Public Health.
Information was recently sent out about the weekly COVID screening tests through OHSU. If interested please complete and return back to school next week as we are submitting the enrollment on Friday. On the OHSU consent form Dufur School should be listed under the information to be released to which allows the labels to be mailed to the school. Results are provided directly from OHSU to parents via email.

The four-day research team is asking for more parent feedback around a four-day instruction week. This survey is shorter than the previous survey, and the team would greatly appreciate parent feedback. Dufur School wants to assure all parents and community members that no decision around a four-day week has been made for Dufur School; only research is being done at this time.

If you are planning to attend tonight's Winter Concert, please consider bringing a canned food or winter clothing item to put under the tree in the main entrance. These items will be donated locally to those in need. Season's Greetings!
