Dufur School wants to remind parents and the community that Missoula Children's Theater will be here from 3/14-3/19 putting on a production of Alice in Wonderland. Rehearsal times Monday through Thursday will be from 3:30-5:30, with a rehearsal schedule for Friday TBA.

It is the time of year that we begin to build our roster for the next Kindergarten class. If you live within the Dufur School District boundaries and have a child who will be 5 years old on or before 9/1/2022, please call the school to get your child on the list for next year. Mrs. Anderson's American Government class visited the Wasco County Courthouse today and met with Judge Janet Stauffer. Students have been studying the federal, state, and local judicial systems, and we are very thankful to the judge and court for enriching their experience.

The Dufur School District was recently awarded a $ 25,000 dollar Asbestos Hazard Assessment Grant from the Oregon Department of Education. This work will occur during the 2022 summer.

Dufur School invites parents and families to attend a feedback forum around MyDay Friday scheduling this Saturday, February 26th, at 10:00 a.m. The concept of MyDay Friday replaces the notion of a four-day school week and utilizes in-session Fridays to allow more engagement and enrichment opportunities for students.

Thank you to pFriem Brewing for the up close and personal tour. The 6th grade Engineering class visited pFriem on Wednesday 2/23 and got a close look at all the engineering involved in production and manufacturing.
Yesterday the Ranger Tech Health Sciences class did vital signs and measurements labs. Ranger Tech is offered every early release Wednesday and provides high school students opportunities for hands-on labs in welding, construction, and health sciences.

The Dufur FFA chapter is hosting a drive-in movie at Sunshine Mill on Monday, February 21st from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The movie being shown is The Night at the Museum. Entry is $20 per car, and additional donations will also be accepted.
Regular baseball practice will begin on Mon. Feb. 28th at 4:00 pm at Dufur City Park.
This week, after school program students participated in Maker's Club and made mini "art bots". They have a battery, switch, and motor which vibrates and makes the attached markers draw. The kids loved them!

February 20th - 26th is National FFA Week! Check out all the fun stuff happening at Dufur School.

OSP Fish and Game officers, Jason Walters and Brent Ocheskey, visited the Dufur Elementary classes on 2/17. They shared their job duties, showed the students animal pelts and answered questions. Thank you OSP for supporting our Dufur School!
