Here is a PSA for the Mid Columbia Umpires Association: The Mid Columbia Umpires Association (MCUA) is continuing to look for new and experienced umpires for the upcoming 2023 high school baseball and softball season. Women are highly encouraged to join. The season starts March 13th. The first meeting for the MCUA will be February 8th at 6 PM. The meeting will be held at the Bargeway Pub on the catering side. This meeting is the rules meeting and will also be an informational meeting for new members. The region's high school softball and baseball teams need umpires. High school games cannot be played unless they have certified umpires. If it comes to where there are not enough officials to cover games, games could have a high probability of being cancelled. So join the MCUA and be part of something important for high school athletics. Training is provided for new members. There is an assistance program to help with the purchase of gear for new officials. There is also an assistance program for the purchase of equipment for Veterans. You can reach out today for information by emailing myself at rjamack.mcua.mcfoa@gmail.com. You can also show your interest by going to http://www.newofficials.org/. Robert Jamack - MCUA Commissioner

A reminder that the District Board of Directors will be holding a "Listening Session" this evening, 2/6 at 5:00 pm on the potential of a School Based Health Center in Dufur School. The meeting will be held in the school cafeteria. The board is no where near a decison on this topic and wants to hear from the community on this issue to make the best informed decision in the future.

This week in PE is all about Scooter Fun! The kids love playing Battleship as a team as they try to throw their cannonballs to knock over the other team's cones. We also are playing Hungry Hungry Hippos collecting balls and scooping them into their pens.
