Here is a PSA for the Mid Columbia Umpires Association:
The Mid Columbia Umpires Association (MCUA) is continuing to look for new and experienced umpires for the upcoming 2023 high school baseball and softball season. Women are highly encouraged to join. The season starts March 13th. The first meeting for the MCUA will be February 8th at 6 PM. The meeting will be held at the Bargeway Pub on the catering side. This meeting is the rules meeting and will also be an informational meeting for new members.
The region's high school softball and baseball teams need umpires. High school games cannot be played unless they have certified umpires. If it comes to where there are not enough officials to cover games, games could have a high probability of being cancelled. So join the MCUA and be part of something important for high school athletics. Training is provided for new members. There is an assistance program to help with the purchase of gear for new officials. There is also an assistance program for the purchase of equipment for Veterans. You can reach out today for information by emailing myself at rjamack.mcua.mcfoa@gmail.com. You can also show your interest by going to http://www.newofficials.org/.

DHS's National Honor Society is honoring the Dufur School District school board this month with a bulletin board to recognize their service to our district. School board members are the unsung heroes in communities throughout the country. They establish the vision and goals for the public schools in their district, and represent the community's values, views, and desires. Thank you Janna Hage, Stan Ashbrook, Robert Wallace, Cynthia Kortge, and Anne Kelly!

Check out the latest 5th grade art project, “A Splash of Color”. A big THANK YOU to Terry Cobb and the Ranger Pride Education Foundation for fulfilling our class wish list thus making this art project possible!

This week in PE is all about Scooter Fun! The kids love playing Battleship as a team as they try to throw their cannonballs to knock over the other team's cones. We also are playing Hungry Hungry Hippos collecting balls and scooping them into their pens.
