Health Science students taught kindergartners about the importance of hand washing with “germs” that glow for the first MyDay Friday of the year.

The 3rd graders had fun learning about daffodils during My Day Friday! Students created diagrams of daffodils and then planted bulbs along the Elementary wing of the school! Be sure to keep an eye out for our flowers when Spring arrives!

Mrs. Huffman’s second grade students applied their knowledge of language and reading to work with clues around the classroom to help solve the mystery of who picked all of Granny Smith’s apples. A very special thank you to our families for donating the ingredients needed to make our very own apple pies in a cup.

Join our FFA Chapter for the Dufur FFA Volleyball Tournament on October 6th! See the attached flyer for all the info.

Last week our k-5 students participated in a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) assembly that engaged our K-5 students in hands-on learning experiences. Every September, National Voter Registration Day encourages Americans to register to vote and celebrate America's freedom to have citizens shape federal, state, and local governments. Mrs. Anderson's American Government class celebrated the day by voluntarily registering to vote if kids chose to. (Voters can register at the age of 16 in Oregon, even though they won't receive ballots until the age of 18.) Another generation of voters is on its way!

Third through 12th grade parents, if you are interested in enrolling your child in Dufur School's afterschool program, please see this letter for details: https://core-docs.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/726/Dufur_School_District/3547160/Registration_Parent_Letter__1_.pdf

On Thursday, Mrs. Gratiot's 4th grade class celebrated their study of genres with a Book Tasting. Students "tasted" books from a variety of genres in a cafe setting and ended the day with juice and cupcakes and a list of books to enjoy as they begin their 40 Book Challenge next week!
