Dufur's unique hybrid schedule makes for excellent opportunities to take small groups off campus for enriching activities that make memories and build relationships among students and staff. Today, Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Hertel took 6th graders sledding out of Dufur, Mrs. Anderson took 8th graders on a walk around downtown The Dalles to view and study historical murals, and Mrs. Darden took 7th graders on a hike to the Mosier tunnels. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the sunshine!

Mid-level students have welcomed Mrs. Pamela Larsen into our school on and off since last November. Mrs. Larsen is a freelance educator who specializes in teaching Pacific Northwest Native American history from all perspectives. Our unit focused on the Lewis & Clark expedition and its impact on Native Americans in the area. Students studied primary source documents from both parties, and then chose an area to further research and share.
