In honor of National Principals Month, we want to recognize and celebrate Principal Tess Welk for her outstanding leadership and unwavering dedication to the students, staff, and families of Dufur School. Principal Welk leads with compassion, integrity, and a deep commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment where every student can thrive. Her ability to connect with students and inspire staff embodies the true spirit of servant leadership. We are grateful for her hard work, positive energy, and the difference she makes in our school community every day.

Earlier this month, Mr. Talley’s fifth grade class traveled to The Dalles Mountain Ranch for a day of outdoor education with the SECRETS program. SECRETS is a science program through The Gorge Discovery Center and Gorge Ecology. Members of the team teach seven weekly lessons in the fifth grade classroom and facilitated this field trip. Thanks to TEN parent volunteers, the SECRETS team reported that this is the largest group of parent volunteers to attend one of their field trips! Way to go Dufur families!!

The 6th grade First Aid students wrapped up a wound care lesson by making fake wounds in class and pranking Mr.C!

Here is a great opportunity for Dufur School students who may be in need of vision care!

Dufur School will be celebrating Veterans on November 10th at 9:15 in our lower gym. There will be a reception for Veterans and their families immediately following the assembly. Please help spread the word!

Junior Ale Meza just broke the 26 year old Dufur 5000 meter xc record! The old time was 21:18 and she ran 21:05 on Saturey at Lents Park in Portland beating the old record by 13 seconds! Congrats Ale! Your Rangers are proud of you!

Today we celebrated our great attendance for September with popcorn for all! A big thanks goes to Lindsey Harvey, Nancy Wilson and the Dufur High School ASB for working to make this happen.
Keep up the great attendance Rangers.
