Chaperoned by Mrs. Anderson, Mr. Peterson, and Ms. Miller, 24 Dufur High School students visited the Oregon State Capitol yesterday for a private tour arranged with Representative Greg Smith and his staff. During the morning's legislative session, Representative Smith called their names thus entering them into the House Journal through floor acknowledgement making it a part of Oregon's Historical Record. Students also met with their Senator Todd Nash on the Senate side of the building. Thank you to Senator Nash and Representative Smith for their hospitality!

A large group of Dufur High School students were guests of Representative Greg Smith today at the state capital. Students toured the capital and sat in on legislative sessions. They were an excellent representation of our school!

Dufur School District invites students, staff, parents, and community members to attend our Participatory Budgeting Session on Wednesday, February 18th from 6–8 p.m. This session builds on the 38 community survey responses we recently received, which showed strong support for investing in teacher retention, a focus on core instruction, student mental health supports, and pursuing alternative funding before making reductions. Participants will review key survey findings, discuss fiscal realities tied to enrollment trends, and collaborate on prioritizing resources for the 2026-2027 budget. Your voice matters as we work together to align our financial decisions with our shared commitment to student success and the long-term sustainability of our district. Join us to help shape the future of Dufur School District. Any questions prior to the event can be sent to kwhitley@dufur.k12.or.us

Our final high school home games for the season will take place this coming Friday. We will host Trout Lake beginning at 6:00 pm. It is also our senior night. Join us in recognizing our senior winter athletes and grab a spaghetti dinner!
