The school plant sale was a huge success! Students did rock painting, face painting, a lemonade stand and a petting zoo! We sold over half of the plants, and what was left, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders potted up and took home. Thank you for the generous donations that will help purchase supplies for next year's greenhouse classes!

Hi Dufur families! This is just a reminder that tomorrow, May 26th, is a no school day for students and staff. Also, school won't be in session on Monday, May 29th, as we observe the Memorial Day holiday. Have a great long weekend!

The Dufur High School group had a busy day on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. today! They met with staffers from Senator Merkley's and Senator Wyden's offices and then were able to personally meet with Representative Cliff Bentz. The Bentz office graciously provided a private tour of the Capitol Building, including a stop inside of the House Chamber and access to parts of the building not open to the regular public. Thank you, Representative Bentz, for your generosity and this opportunity!

Thanks to a grant through the Columbia Gorge Educational Service District, DHS students and after-school program employees Olivia Jim and Sky Miller are attending a Close-Up Washington, D.C. experience this week. DHS teacher Sarah Anderson and educational assistant Susie Hanna are accompanying them on the trip. On their first day, they were able to sightsee before the program's orientation that evening. It will be a packed week of learning all about our nation's capital and government!
