On Thursday, the FCS class had the opportunity to tour Azure Standard's warehouse, carob factory and pour room, mill, cannery, and tropical greenhouse! We would like to thank CEO David Stelzer for taking time out of his busy schedule to teach us about their manufacturing and shipping practices, safety and sanitation, and milling and canning process. Everyone had a great time seeing behind the scenes of a local business!

Dufur Families, This is just a reminder that Friday, September 13th, is a Staff Development Day. School will NOT be in session for students.
Parents, the cafeteria staff will soon begin offering seconds of the main entree to students. Seconds are not covered under our free lunch program so you will be responsible to pay the costs for them. Please notify the school if you do not want your child to have seconds and talk to your children so they understand. The cost of seconds range from $1.50 to $2.50 depending upon the age of the student. Please call the school if you have questions.
Congratulations to Camryn Douglas and Carolyn Clausen, who placed third and eleventh respectively at last weekend's middle school cross country meet! Camryn and Carolyn co-op with The Dalles Middle School Cross Country team.
Picture Day Information: Dufur School picture day is September 18, 2024. Please make sure your student is prepared. We do not use a green screen, we use a Gray Screen background so you don’t have to worry about what color your child is wearing. Please think about your background color when ordering so the outfit you and your child choose does not clash nor does it become an exact match to the background color.

Today six high school students volunteered their time at Columbia Gorge Humane Society. They did some cleaning and yard work, and of course got to walk some cute pups!
Parents of students of who will be using our gym facilities for PE, recess, athletics or other activities, please provide your child with tennis shoes with non-marking soles that they only wear for gym activities. Soon both of our gym floors will be finished and they suffer undo wear if we are not careful about footwear that is worn outside and then in to the gym.
