Mrs. Miller and her 2nd graders would like to thank each and every person who shared our project and sent cards and postcards to help us with Hearts around the World! We have received 156 postcards from 48 states and 11 different countries! The only states still needed are from Rhode Island and Maryland. We have had so much fun learning fun facts about so many parts of our world!

Ms. Susan from the OSU Extension Service recently visited both 3rd Grade classes. During each of her 3-day visits, she taught students some music principles along with rhythm, sounds, and basic coding to create songs! Everyone had a great time using the computer program to remix current songs into their own masterpieces and collaborating with one another to enhance their creations!

Mrs. Bales' 1st grade class has been working long and hard on creating their Hot Chocolate Shop "business". It was a collaborative effort that ended with some very satisfied "customers". The students came up with the name of our shop- Cup of Joy, as well as the four different hot cocoa drinks they would be serving. It was fun watching them become young entrepreneurs, and learn how to work together to achieve the many details that go into a business. And of course, we had to sample our product! 😄

Mr. Colasuonno, the Dufur School Dean of Students, presents a monthly award for the K-12 Student of the Month. This award symbolizes what it means to be a Ranger: positive, encouraging, striving for excellence, team-oriented and an overall productive member of our student body. Congratulations to the January Student of the Month, Kyle Wilson!
