Dufur School will be putting together lunch boxes that cover lunches through 11/24.These boxes will be available for pick up at the front entrance of the school on 11/17 between 4:30 and 6:30 pm. We will also be delivering these boxes to homes outside of Dufur on 11/17 in the afternoon. Please let us know by 9:00 am on 11/16 if you would like a box prepared you. Looking towards the week of Thanksgiving: Monday, November 23rd will be an A day for students at the Dufur School campus, and Tuesday, November 24th will be a B day.
The middle school wanted to do something special for our veterans, so Mrs. Darden and her social studies classes put together this art quilt banner “Honoring All Who Served”. It will be delivered to the Veterans home in The Dalles.

Junior High Volleyball Families: There will not be Jr. High Volleyball practice tomorrow, 11/11. The final practice for the season will be Monday, 11/16 from 4 to 5 p.m.

Mid-level students are studying Lewis and Clark during their enrichment time. As part of their experience, today the 7th grade B pod went to the park to write journal entries about the creek and its surroundings just like Lewis did back in 1805.




Middle school and high school Strength & Conditioning has been canceled for today, November 3rd.
Food Service News: Dufur School will still provide weekly food boxes if you have pre-school or under aged children or if your child is participating in the "Distance Learning" program. You must call the school or email me at lindsey.harvey@dufur.k12.or.us to start your food box back up again. If you live in Dufur you may get daily meals at Dufur Christian Church provided by Dufur School. All children 1-18 years old may receive meals:: PANDEMIC EBT CARDS!! The state has added more funds to your Pandemic EBT card. It should be $100 per Dufur Student for the month of September!!! As of now there is not more funding available but still hang on to your card because funds might become available again.
Dufur Pumpkin Patch!

Grades K-3 had a great week with Halloween parties, a pumpkin patch, and all kinds of delicious apple snacks and games! We would like to thank the many people who made things possible through their donations! High School kids in FCS Enrichment had a great time designing and painting pumpkins! Which one is your favorite?


Mid-level art students have been busy learning about the art element "line" and about French artist Georges Seurat, made famous for his "pointillism" technique.



There will be no 6-12 football practice today (Thursday, Oct. 29).
Dufur School is excited to invite the community to watch the Homecoming parade, which will take place at 6:00 PM on Friday, November 6th. The parade will begin at We3 and will wind through downtown Dufur, turning back to the school at the post office.
Esther has a new "Strength and Conditioning" schedule starting this week. The time and days for middle school athletes will be Tuesday and Thursday from 2:15 to 3:00 p.m., while high school will be on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:00 to 3:45.
Dufur School is looking for pumpkin and apple donations for the elementary pumpkin patch next week. Donations would need to be arranged before Wednesday, October 28th. On Wednesdays we enrich! Yesterday, it was the B pods' turn to leave school for enrichment. The 6th and 7th grade pods took their turn at Fifteenmile Creek just like the A pods did last week. Mrs. Darden took the 8th grade pod out to the Friend Schoolhouse and then to Henderson Cemetery near Dufur.



Food Service News
Lots of things have been happening in our Dufur School Kitchen this year! Our one main goal is to feed as many children as we can. Our weekly food boxes are still available for High School students and Distance Learning students. If you would like a weekly food box you will need to contact the school or email me at lindsey.harvey@dufur.k12.or.us and be able to pick up the box at Dufur School.
Most children who are attending Dufur School in person will be receiving either double or triple lunches sent home with them on the last day of their school week. If your child lives in Dufur they can get daily weekday lunches at the Dufur Christian Church. Most of the kids on bus routes are the children who will be taking lunches home with them.
We can provide lunches for children 1-18 whether they attend. Dufur School or not. These are trying times for all and Dufur School is here to lend a helping hand.
