Dufur School will be recognizing the fall season middle school and high school athletes at the December 5th Board of Directors meeting in the Dufur School Cafeteria at 6:00 p.m. Athletes and parents please mark your calendars to attend!

For Veterans Day, the Ranger Pride Education Foundation made it possible for us to have banners with veteran's photos made. They are on display outside of the school entrance for the month of November. Our goal is to keep adding to our collection of banners. Veterans can contact the school office, or email beverson@dufur.k12.or.us to share photos with us for next year!

All of Dufur School participated in our assembly honoring our veterans today. The ASB and NHS hosted the assembly. Many people contributed to make it a great event. The FCS class helped with refreshments, students and community members performed patriotic songs, and elementary students presented hand-made cards to the veterans. Mr. Mobley and Mr. Slusher were our guest speakers. Mrs. Kortge and the Ranger Pride Education Foundation coordinated decorations and banners, and Mrs. Anderson took great photographs! We would like to say to our veterans "Thank you for your service."
A huge thank you to Wasco Electric for their electrical safety demonstration to elementary students.

Tomorrow, November 8th, is Picture Retake Day. If you missed our original photo day, you can use the code on the attached flyer to order photos. Please make sure that your child knows that they should have their picture taken on Tuesday. Also if you are unhappy with your original photos, they can be retaken. Please be sure to send the photos back to return to the photographer. Photos will be taken first thing in the morning, and they should be completed by 10 am. Please call the office if you have questions!
Dufur Student Council and National Honor Society members are attending the Oregon Association of Student Councils in Seaside this weekend.
Elementary bulletin board tour continued!
Here is a little tour of the elementary hall bulletin boards for those of you who are not able to see them in person. Our staff and students are so creative!
Mrs. Olson visited the 3rd Grade classes to create some wonderful fall cards using a rubbing transfer technique! She gave all the students a variety of fresh plant materials (leaves, flowers, and stems) to transfer onto their cards. Both classes had a great time creating, chatting, and thinking about plants in a new way! Thank you Mrs. Olson!

October was National Principals Month, so yesterday during the Halloween assembly, the National Honor Society honored our own Mrs. Whitley and thanked her for being such an outstanding principal at Dufur School. We are so lucky to have such a hard-working, compassionate, thoughtful, organized, intelligent, and motivated principal leading our school.
Thank you to the Ranger Pride Education Foundation for purchasing a gift bag full of items to pamper her and make her feel appreciated.
