Mrs. Kristin Whitley

Hello, my name is Kristin Whitley. I am the high school language arts teacher at Dufur School District. I grew up on a wheat farm in Kent, Oregon, and I currently live in Grass Valley with my husband, Chris. In our spare time we enjoy fishing, hiking, and trips to the Oregon coast. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in Spanish at Oregon State University in 2011. I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching from Eastern Oregon University in the summer of 2014, and I have been teaching since the fall of 2014. I enjoy teaching language arts because it is a subject in which students explore all sorts of cultures and viewpoints through literature. I also love seeing students make leaps and bounds of improvement in the many modes of writing.
